“Putpockets” give a little extra cash..

LONDON (Reuters) – Visitors to London always have to be on the look out for pickpockets, but now there’s another, more positive phenomenon on the loose — putpockets.

Aware that people are suffering in the economic crisis, 20 former pickpockets have turned over a new leaf and are now trawling London’s tourist sites slipping money back into unsuspecting pockets.

Anything from 5 pounds ($8) to 20 pound notes is being surreptitiously deposited in unguarded pockets or open handbags in Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden and other busy spots.

The initiative, which runs until the end of August in London before being rolled out countrywide, is being funded by a broadbrand provider, which says it wants to brighten up people’s lives in unusual ways.

“It feels good to give something back for a change — and Britons certainly need it in the current economic climate,” said Chris Fitch, a former pickpocket who now heads TalkTalk’s putpocketing initiative.

“Every time I put money back in someone’s pocket, I feel less guilty about the fact I spent many years taking it out.”

London’s police have been briefed about the plan, which will see at least 100,000 pounds given away.

the little things :)

The ‘ L I T T L E ‘ Things~

As you might remember, the head of a company survived

9/11  because his son started kindergarten.

Another fellow was alive because it was

His turn to bring donuts.

One woman was late because her

Alarm clock didn’t go off in time.

One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike

Because of an auto accident.

One of them

Missed his bus.

One spilled food on her clothes and had to take

Time to change..

Car wouldn’t start.

One couldn’t

Get a taxi.

The one that struck me was the man

Who put on a new pair of shoes that morning,

Took the various means to get to work

But before he got there, he developed

a blister on his foot.

He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid.

That is why he is alive today..

Now when I am

Stuck in traffic ,

Miss an elevator,

Turn back to answer a ringing telephone …

All the little things that annoy me.

I think to myself,

This is exactly where

God wants me to be

At this very moment..

Next time your morning seems to be

Going wrong ,

The children are slow getting dressed,

You can’t seem to find the car keys,

You hit every traffic light,

Don’t get mad or frustrated;

It May be just that

God is at work watching over you..

May God continue to bless you

With all those annoying little things

And may you remember their possible purpose.

find a guy who’ll hold ur hand just before the traffic light turns green..
who’ll accompany u anywhere just 2 b with u..
who’ll smell ur hair every chance he gets..
who’ll wipe off ur sweat with his hanky..
who makes u feel beautiful when ur with him..
who’ll tell u you are beautiful even on a bad hair day.. (which is pretty much, everyday! :P)
who makes u feel secured even if there’s a lot of pretty girls around him..
who always compliments u..
who wouldnt want to let u go even if its time for u to go..
who’ll look at u like ur the only girl he sees..
who’ll spoil you..
who’ll kiss you and dance with u in the rain..
who’ll open the door for u..
who still talks to you even if he’s so sleepy and ur so scared..
who’s patient when u take forever to get ready..
who’ll apologize if he did something wrong or even if he didnt..
who wants to show you off to the world when ur in sweats,
and when ur not with him, he’s all that u can think about..
who’ll call u to talk to u about nothing at all..
who’ll look at u and make u get butterflies in ur stomach..
find a guy who occupies your every dream and if u find him, never let him go.. *Ü*

Mariah Carey says ‘yes’ to product placement

Posted in entertainment and everything hollywood or whatnot with tags , , on August 5, 2009 by xianelle

Mariah Carey set records with her last album, “E=MC2”; it sold 463,000 its first week, the best in Carey’s career.

With her new album, “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,” Carey is looking to make history again, but for different reasons. When it drops Sept. 15, Carey will become the first artist to bundle the CD with lifestyle ads from Elizabeth Arden, Angel Champagne and the Bahamas Board of Tourism. As if that’s not enough branding for one album, there’s this: the 34-page ad booklet is a co-production with Elle magazine.

The take-home lesson: Even with an artist who is a proven commercial success, you can’t bet on album sales for income. If the experiment works well with Carey, her label Island Def Jam is considering doing the same with Rihanna, Bon Jovi, Kanye West and others.
